Introduction

The program is designed to finance the study of talented international students in China that are directly selected and recommended by designated Chinese universities, with the scholarships provided by the China Scholarship Council for the said universities.

The Hohai University programs include: Lancang-Mekong Cooperation High-level Talent Project in Water Resources, Belt and Road High-level Talent Project in Water Conservancy, etc. For details, please refer to the notice.

Student Category

Master's and doctoral students

Scholarship Coverage

Tuition fees, university dormitory, stipend and comprehensive medical insurance.

Criteria

1. No tuition fees;

2. Free university dormitory;

3. Monthly stipend:

Master’s students/general scholars: CNY 3,000 per month

Doctoral students/senior scholars: CNY 3,500 per month

4. Comprehensive medical insurance:

CNY 800 per person per year; CNY 400 per person (for programs lasting less than six months)

Eligibility

1. Be a citizen of a country other than the PRC and in good health both mentally and physically;

2. Requirements for Academic Background and Age

Be an academically excellent holder of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for a Master’s program;

Be an academically excellent holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral program.

Time Open to Application

Usually from January to April. 

It depends on the programs.

An applicant shall fill in and submit the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship online: https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn (university code: 10294) and application form of Hohai University online: http://admission.hhu.edu.cn with a registration fee of CNY 400 paid (non-refundable).

Review and Admission

The university will review the applicant's academic background, academic performance, academic transcripts, and scientific research ability, and organize an interview before finalizing the short-list candidates. The applicant may check the mailbox or track the application status online. The official admission result is subject to the notification from Hohai University.

Notes

An annual review system is employed for the Chinese Government Scholarship, and the review results serve as the basis for the continuation of the Chinese Government Scholarship.
