2023 Splendid Jiangsu International Summer School

The 2023 Splendid Jiangsu International Summer School on Yangtze River Protection and High-quality Development is hosted by the Yangtze Institute for Conservation and Development and International School of Hohai University, with collaboration with the UNESCO-IHP International Research and Training Center on Hydrology, Water Resources and Water Environment, the International Discipline Union of Hydraulics and Environment, the IAHR-Hohai Collaborative Committee on Higher Education and E-Learning, and the Western Returned Scholars Association of Hohai University.

Dates: August 20th-27th 2023 (including courses, on campus lectures & city culture experience). Please note that dates may be subject to changes as needed.

Location: Nanjing, China

Schedule: This summer school includes four days for in-door lectures, one day for on-site lecture, and two days for field trip. The topics include the water cycle and flood control and disaster reduction in the Yangtze River Basin, high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, shipping and deep waterway construction in the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, hydraulic restoration and water ecological protection the Lower Yangtze Plain, etc. Lecturers include well-known scientists from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Hohai University, and other international universities and institutes.

Who can apply?

International postgraduate students with an academic background in Hydraulic, Environment and other related disciplines.
