Vice President Tang Hongwu warmly welcomed the guests and outlined the latest development of scientific research and professional cultivation. During the meeting, both sides exchanged in-depth views on HHU-UCLA”3+1+1” joint degree postgraduate program , and the hope was expressed that more collaboration could be encouraged in the coming years, especially in relation to research collaboration, short-term exchange of students and teachers and sharing scientific resource. After the meeting, Professor Stewart and Professor Gebremichael delivered academic speech for students in College of Hydrology and Water Resources, College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering and College of Civil and Transportation Engineering，and paid visit to the Geotechnical Research Lab，the Sediment Research Lab, the State Key Lab and Jiangning Campus.
