Notice on the Opening Arrangements of 2021 Autumn Semester for International Students

Dear International Students

    According to the prevention and control measures of COVID-19 required by the government, the students who are abroad should not return to China without notification from the university, the students in China will receive the return to school notice individually. All the international students are NOT allowed to return to campus before September 15and they can return to school only after being notified of the return to school with official permission.

Below are some important rules to follow. Thank you for the cooperation.

   International Students of Hohai University, in or outside China, including undergraduate students, master’s students, doctoral students, general scholar students, senior scholar students, and also new degree program students of 2021 intake.

1. Registration Method

  All the international students need to complete online semester registration in Hohai Information Portal at http://myhall.hhu.edu.cn/taskcenter/

The continuing students shall submit the online semester registration from August 28 to 29, and the new students of 2021 intake shall submit the online semester registration from September 14 to 15.

The new students of 2021 intake need to prepare a scanned copy of the following materials (PDF formatno more than 10M in size)

(1) Passport (including the photo page and the Chinese visa and residence permit if you are in China).

(2) Certificate and diploma of the most advanced degree

(3) The transcript of the most advanced degree

(4) Study plan (if you have recommendation letter from Hohai University, please provide together)

The specific requirements and user manual will be announced later on International School website and WeChat Official Account.


2. Teaching Arrangement

(1) All undergraduate, master and doctoral students of 2021 intake will be taught online from Week 4 of academic year 2021-2022, September 20. The specific teaching arrangements and requirements will be announced later on the website of international school and WeChat official account;

(2) The undergraduate students of 2018, 2019 and 2020 will be taught online from Week 1 of academic year 2021-2022, August 30, and will switch to offline mode according to the situation. Specific teaching arrangements and requirements will be announced by teaching department of HHU and also the colleges.


3. Payment Requirements

Self-financed students and partial scholarship students need to pay the tuition fee and accommodation fee for one academic year. Students log on the designated payment platform to pay tuition and accommodation fees before October 20, 2021. Specific requirements and procedures will be notified upon check-in.


4. Requirements for Comprehensive Medical Insurance

All international students are required to purchase comprehensive medical insurance in China. Those who fail to purchase comprehensive medical insurance within the time limit shall terminate their studies. Students can purchase by themselves on www.lxbx.net at 800 RMB Yuan per academic year. Specific requirements and payment procedures will be notified upon registration.


5. Other Arrangements

 (1) Visa Services

A. Currently, overseas international students cannot enter China for the time being. They need to wait for the official announcement of the Chinese government, and they can contact the Chinese embassy or consulate in the country/region where they are located for consultation or wait for further notice from the school.

B. New students in China can apply for extension of residence permit only after completing online registrationfulfill the payment the corresponding fees (tuition, accommodation fees) and purchase insurance premiums before you can go through the residence permit extension procedures. According to the requirements of the Nanjing Exit and Entry Administration department, students should register for temporary residence by themselves through the Nanjing Public Security Wechat official account "南京公安" within 24 hours after check-in or changing your living address. Specific requirements and related procedures will be notified upon registration.

 (2) Medical Examination Arrangements

All new students must complete a medical examination at the Jiangsu International Travel Health Care Center (Physical Examination Center). Specific requirements and arrangements will be notified upon arrival.
