In order to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and people around the world and promote China’s exchange and cooperation with other countries in various fields, the Chinese government sets up scholarships for talented students and scholars to pursue higher education or conduct research in Chinese universities.

The Jiangsu Government Scholarship is provided by Jiangsu Province for international students studying in Jiangsu in order to serve the national interests and the needs for local economic development.

In order to attract and encourage more outstanding foreign students to study and engage in scientific research at universities in Nanjing, the Nanjing Municipal Government has set up the Nanjing Government Scholarship since 2013.

The "Hohai University Scholarship" has been set up to attract outstanding foreign students to the university for study and further education, in order to enhance its internationalization level and promote the “Double First-Class” construction.
